WINNING DRAWINGS
In July of 2006, Darren Ryker won the American Institute of Building Design Award of Honor for Outstanding Working Drawings at the A.I.B.D National Convention and Design Competition in Tucson Arizona. It was the first time Ryker Design had entered a National Competition. There were 25 pages in the winning set of plans. You can view some of those pages HERE. The plans were designed and engineered based on the fact that the home site was only a few miles from a major seismic fault line. Judges cited complexity, extraordinary detail and the use of advanced and extensive 3-D imaging, in handing out the award. Bakersfield based engineer Jack Leonard handled the structural engineering on the mammoth project.
